Learn about the artistic styles, craftsmanship and crafts traditions of South Asia’s many culturally diverse regions at the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre when it unveils its latest travelling exhibit from the Royal Ontario Museum, Ornamenting the Ordinary: Crafts of South Asia on Saturday, September 10, 2011 from 1-3 pm. The exhibit showcases the significance of light in South Asian art, innovations in metal technology, indigo-dyeing and block-printing, textile trade, religious symbolism, species and their Ayurvedic uses and will run until January 1, 2011.
